The Role:

Business Development Manager/Corporate Partnerships Manager

Daily Rate: £200

Location: London Based (role will be homeworking but the regular in-person team and stakeholder meetings will be required)

Contract: Part Time – Freelance


Job Summary:

Ms Independent Careers exists to improve equitable access to opportunity for employment for women.


We are at an exciting stage in the development of our Community Interest Company and are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to design and deliver Ms Independent a two-year business development strategy with a focus on corporate partnerships. This is a great opportunity to shape a growing organisation and a business development function.


Key Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Working with Director to develop and deliver a business development strategy with clear targets to ensure the growth of Ms Independent

  • Take a proactive approach to identifying business development opportunities and building a robust pipeline of prospects

  • Generate compelling proposals, applications, presentations, and reports to effectively engage and secure sponsorship and support from partners.

  • Lead the negotiation and contracting and onboarding of new partners

  • Manage ongoing relationships with existing and new corporate partners

  • Establish internal systems, processes and policies to ensure the smooth delivery of the business development strategy

  • Occasional provide ad hoc support to assist with events, grant applications and other income generation activities


Previous Experience:


  • Building and managing corporate partnerships with a value of over £10,000 per annum to support charitable work

  • Designing and delivering business development strategies

  • Negotiating, drafting and securing contracts with external partners


Essential Skills and Requirements:


  • Ability to see strategic opportunities and connections with other activities

  • Ability to manage ambiguity, analyse strategic opportunities and apply judgement to present well-substantiated recommendations in writing and in person.

  • Ability to broker mutually beneficial relationships with a wide range of partners.

  • Ability to work with a range of stakeholders to gain trust and buy-in to ideas and concepts

  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a dynamic, quick-changing environment.

  • Strategic thinking, combined with a practical hands-on approach.

  • Strong and positive communication.

  • Willing to work flexibly and respond to changing priorities.

  • Excellent time management and prioritisation.

  • Confident and competent in using IT systems, particularly databases, and Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • London-based
