We partner with schools and community groups to deliver inspiring and practical workshops focused on employability and personal development.

 

About the Role
We’re currently building a small team of 3–4 Freelance Workshop Facilitators to help deliver school-based workshops and weekly career clinics in the Merton area. This is a flexible, part-time role that's perfect for professionals looking to earn extra income while making a meaningful impact.

In addition to the current school projects, there will be opportunities to run more workshops as we expand into other schools and programmes throughout the year.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, career-focused workshops in schools (topics include CVs, interviews, LinkedIn, job applications, and workplace confidence).

• Facilitate Career Clinics (2 hours per week) to support students with their individual employability needs.

• Prepare for each session (1 hour of paid prep per workshop; additional prep time may be requested and approved as needed).

• Create an inclusive, empowering environment using interactive teaching methods.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with schools and act as an ambassador for Ms Independent Careers.

• Support with basic project delivery and monitoring & evaluation, including collecting feedback and reporting impact.

• Communicate regularly with the wider team and contribute to the development of our growing programmes.
   

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with young people in a facilitation, education, coaching or mentoring capacity.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• A passion for youth empowerment, employability and equal opportunities.

• Reliable and self-motivated, with strong organisational skills.

• Comfortable travelling to schools across Merton and surrounding areas.

• Flexible and open to taking on more workshop opportunities as they arise.

 

Pay & Hours

• £35/hour for delivering workshops

• £15/hour for preparation (1 hour per 2-hour school session)

• Career Clinic sessions: 2 hours per week at £35/hour

• Additional paid prep time may be requested based on workshop needs
